Catering at our Care Home

At Sunningdale care home we believe that meal times play an important part in the social life of  the home.

Our Catering team provide home cooking to a high standard which constitutes a wholesome, appealing and balanced diet to suit the dietary needs and choice of the individual.

A four weekly menu system is in operation, which reflects residents choices and their individual personal, cultural and religious and ethnic requirements.

Meal times ensure that residents receive a flexible catering service that enables them to eat at a time and place of their choice, in comfort, and in such a manner as to promote their self esteem.

Snacks and hot and cold drinks are available at all times.

For residents who are unable to handle cutlery and who require assistance, then this is undertaken by an appropriate staff member with the emphasis always on discretion and maximising the dignity of the resident.

Sunningdale aims to provide its residents with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort is of prime importance.

Our excellent caring team strive to preserve and maintain the independence, dignity, and privacy of all our residents within a warm caring atmosphere, and in so doing will be sensitive to the residents ever changing needs.

Our aim is to provide a total range of individual care packages with all the appropriate agencies, to meet the overall healthcare requirements and preferences of our residents.

Quality of Care

We wish to provide the highest quality of nursing care at our care home  and to do this we give priority to a number of areas relating to the operation of the home and the services we provide. We have a comprehensive Quality Policies and Procedures Manual, which is consistently under review and revision. All significant policies are contained here including our complaints procedure.

An important part of our approach to quality assurance is to obtain the views of all our stakeholders, particularly those of residents, relatives and their representatives. We do this by way of regular reviews with individual residents and, on more general matters, through separate meetings with residents and relatives.
